About this event
In 2020, 40% of US businesses were owned by women and generated $1.8 trillion. With these numbers in mind, it comes as no surprise that the presence of women in entrepreneurship and investing is growing.
Why do women-led companies financially outperform their male counterparts? And what are the "female superpowers" behind our ability to excel in these fields? Join featured speaker, Megan Bent, and she explores the research, data, and her own experience in the importance of female leadership in entrepreneurship and investing, and how to leverage your differences to your advantage.
About Megan
As the Founder and Managing Partner at Harbinger Ventures, Megan is a lifelong investor and entrepreneur who has spent the last decade identifying and scaling high-growth, early-stage companies in the consumer sector. Through Harbinger, she has been leveraging a model that emphasizes female leadership and fosters close collaboration among entrepreneurs and investors to accelerate value creation.
About Ladies Who LaUNCH
Ladies who LaUNCH is a luncheon series to empower our female entrepreneurs, innovators, or any females that want to create a lasting impact in our society. It is up to us ladies to support and encourage other women in entrepreneurship. If we are going to turn some of these rattling statistics on their head (…like only 2% of venture-backed companies are female-led…) we must do it together.
*This event is open to Rice students and alumni. After registering via Eventbrite, we will follow up with an email including the Zoom details as we get closer to the date. We look forward to seeing you there!
