Event description

Join us for a night of lacrosse! The fastest sport on two feet is coming to the Space Coast. Lacrosse is the oldest sport in North America. This event is a fundraiser for both lacrosse clubs, as both universities only partially sponsor both lacrosse teams. Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S.

Please bring a canned good donation our two for our "Lax4Good" food drive. Austin Altevogt and Joseph Caporicci (two Brevard students) , co-founders wanted to help stock public high school pantries. All food collected is donated to students in transition (some homeless) who may go without food! You will receive a free raffle ticket for each canned good donated.

UF vs UCF men's lacrosse game & youth lacrosse clinic. Saturday night, under the lights at Viera High School, 6301 Stadium Parkway, Melbourne. Game time  is 7:00 pm. Youth clinic begins at 5:00 pm. Player roosters will be available for each attendee, as well as "Lacrosse 101 handouts" for those fans that are new to the game.

The youth clinic will begin at 5:00 pm, on the field with the players and coaches. This is a great opprtunity for both boys and girls to experience lacrosse at all skill levels. Both beginners and advanced students can participate in the clinic. Bring the whole family and stick, if you have one. We will provide sticks for those new to lacrosse. Space is limited and will be determined by those first entered.

At halftime of the game the girls will be giving a demonstration on the field also. Every high school will be represented by both boys and girls lacrosse players.

New to lacrosse or never attended a game? No worries,  We are holding a "Lacrosse 101" class for those attending their first game. We will have handouts and even have live demonstrations, so you can enjoy your first game. Player rosters for both teams will be given out. Great youtube .com videos to watch 1) Lacrosse 101 for Parents 2) Lacrosse Field Positions. Both by Stephanie Forringer. Look for the green lacrosse marking board.

Both the Space Coast Gator Club and UCF, Space Coast Chapter will have tents manned with information and events going on about their alumni associations, as well as Friends of Brevard Lacrosse and other local vendors and sponsors.

Vendors and sponsors are needed to make this event a success. Sponsorships start at $25.00 and vendors start at $50.00 Email for details and options.

There will  be full concessions, so you can enjoy dinner and drinks with the family before, during and after the game.

4:30 - Gates  and concessions stands open. Tailgating area is behind the scorboard at the football field In the parking lot.

5:00- The youth lacrosse clinic is open to all ages 5 & up. We encourage children new to sport to come on out and try it. The clinic will take place on the field with both teams players participating. Experienced players please bring your own stick. We will supply equipment for all new players.

Join us under the lights at 7:00 pm for UF vs UCF Men's Lacrosse: Battle for Brevard. At halftime there will be a lacrosse demonstration by the girls playing on the field.

Both teams compete in the MCLA (Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association) and are in-state rivals in the sthe South Eastern Lacrosse Conference.  Their division, the South East , includes Florida St, Miami and South Florida.

Last year UF won a close 8-7 decision over UCF in Orlando so this year's game should be evenly matched and a close one as well.
