The LABash 2017 Planning Committee is honored to invite you to the 47th LABash conference, an annual three-day student-planned conference for landscape architecture students and professionals in North America! This year’s conference will be held at the University of Maryland from March 23-25, 2017.
Landscape architecture professionals, current students and professionals from related fields such as urban planning, architecture, urban design, and art join to celebrate landscape architecture, learn new skills, network with other students and prospective employers, and gain inspiration for their work and future career. The conference allows students to develop educationally and professionally as young landscape architects. Most importantly, the conference instills in students a sense of empowerment, community, and a drive to succeed.
The theme of LABash 2017 is “Render Monumental,” which provokes ideas about the role of art, urbanism, and time in the field of landscape architecture and more so in our DC Metropolitan area, where landscapes often serve as monuments in memoriam of historical people and events. We hope to inspire the next generation of landscape architects to take their work to the next level - putting passion and hard work into making every design “monumental” - no matter the scale or location. The event is expected to draw 400 of the most enthusiastic landscape architecture students and professionals. Attendees will participate in a range of exciting and innovative events in both College Park and around Washington D.C.
