Event description

Description

We’ve partnered with the Lucero Project -- a curatorial platform founded in 2015 by Colombian artist Juan Obando (Bogotá, 1980) and French arts administrator Julie Cangrand (Alicante, 1981) -- to work toward our common goal of promoting and exhibiting emerging artists in our community. This March, in recognition of Women’s history month, artists Stephanie Aguayo (Miami, 1998) and Rebekak Vargas (Miami, 1994) will display their most recent projects that allow onlookers to see a new perspective.

Aguayo’s work combines video, animated GIFs, and installations in an experimental collage that explores the ironies of contemporary colonial commercialization of Caribbean communities. Inspired by her Nicaraguan heritage, Vargas’s project addresses topics of immigration, Latinidad, and themes of displacement through photography, video, and poetry.

With such unique and inspiring exhibitions, you won’t want to miss this celebration of art, culture, and women.

Artist Talk: Friday, March 2nd at 6:30PM
