Event Information
Description
Join us at Photoville, NYC (http://www.photovillenyc.org/) with Lomography (http://www.lomography.com/):
Say hello to the 35mm sardine can camera, La Sardina! With a wide-angle lens, multiple exposure capabilities and rewind dial, this skipper is just waiting to submerge you in the wild world of experimental analogue photography. We'll be exploring the beautiful skyline at Brooklyn Bridge Park with this wide-angle beauty! Loaner cameras will be on hand as well as a free roll of film for all participants.
About LOMOGRAPHY:
What started out spontaneously as an artistic approach to photography in the Vienna underground scene developed into Lomography becoming an international socio-cultural movement using photography as a creative approach to communicating, absorb and capturing the world. Today we are a globally active organization dedicated to experimental and creative visual expression, a playful combination of lo-tech and hi-tech and the amalgamation of a cultural institution with a commercial photographic and design company focusing entirely on the unique imagery, style and approach of analogue photography and its further development.
About PHOTOVILLE:
Photoville (photovillenyc.org) is a new Brooklyn-based photo destination - a veritable village of freight containers transformed into temporary exhibition spaces, taking place this summer from June 22 to July 1, 2012.
Photoville will feature a feisty mix of exhibitions, lectures, hands-on workshops, nighttime projections, a photo dog run, a camera greenhouse, and a summer beer-garden with food trucks that will create a photography destination like no other.
