Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11’s moon landing with a program highlighting the stories of those who designed and built the spaceships that took us to the moon! Hear the story of humanity’s greatest technical achievement from those who made it happen – right here in Southern California. Former Apollo program employees will share their recollections, from the personal to the professional, followed by an audience Q&A session.
Confirmed Panelists:
Gerald Blackburn – Engineer on Apollo and Space Shuttle, author of the book “Downey’s Aerospace History”
John Perez – Site photographer who worked on the recovery and shakedown of all of the Apollo capsules
Chuck Lowry – Engineer on Apollo, Space Shuttle, etc., responsible for a number of major spacecraft systems including the parachutes; he still consults for NASA
Susan Ingle – Property Manager, responsible for procuring and tracking all of the parts of the Apollo and then Space Shuttle spacecraft
The panel discussion will be moderated by Will Pomerantz, VP at Virgin Orbit.
