Event Details

Come join the LA Lone Scouts on a learning/eating experience with agriculture and entrepreneurship in Southern California!

We will take a guided walking tour around the farm where we will learn about farmlife and harvest our own vegetables in the field.

Based on season, we may pick the following vegetables: bell peppers, carrots, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, kale, lettuce, Swiss chard, tomatoes, and more!

Then we will head to the cookout area where we will have a freshly cooked delicious lunch of seasonal grilled vegetables with chicken, farm fresh salad, fresh fruit for dessert, and bottled water.

FOR WHOM:

This is for ALL YOUTH (7-17 years old) and their parents/adult chaperones who can walk for 2-3 hours outdoors on a farm, regardless of gender, race, religion, school choice, or scout affiliation.

Due to the terrain, this is not wheelchair accessible.

Youth who are BSA SCOUTS (11-17 years old/Grades 6-12) will have the opportunity to complete the requirements for the NOVA Science LET-IT-GROW Award if they bring their worksheet with Requirement 1 and 2 completed at minimum.
