Russia’s acclaimed ballet company, The Russian State Ballet & Orchestra of Siberia, returns to the UK with a performance of La Fille Mal Gardée. We are delighted to invite you to join us, possibly with supper beforehand at the nearby Hotel du Vin to enjoy splendid food, a wonderfull ballet and the satisfaction of supporting vital research into eye disease, sight loss and blindness.
Recreated by Alexander Gorsky, this ballet remains one of the oldest still regularly performed and tells
the tale of the love between Lise and Colas, and Lise’s efforts to thwart her overly possessive mother’s
plan to marry her off to a rich, unattractive vineyard owner. Featuring comedy, drama and beautiful
virtuoso dancing, these are just some of the highlights which also include the flute dance, Fanny Elsler
pas de deux and the famous clog dance.
You have the option to:
purchase a ticket with supper beforehand at the Hotel du Vin (a menu selection will be sent to you before the event),
or to attend the just the ballet,
or simply to make a donation to our charity and support research into eye disease
