Please join LA CEOs and our esteemed panel for a focused discussion on operational, legal, accounting, and financial aspects of going global and manufacturing, importing and exporting in China.

Nicole Simonian, Partner, Bryan Cave LLP.  Nicole Simonian serves as the firms Asia Coordinator, responsible for managing strategic growth and other initiatives throughout Asia in connection with the Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore offices.  Ms. Simonian has advised companies from emerging growth to multinational conglomerates on their current corporate structures and global business expansion throughout Asia (including China, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, and Thailand). She also has experience working with companies in Latin America and Europe. Her experience also includes working with companies to ensure and manage compliance risks with government authorities in Asia on issues dealing with investment regulations, customs and trade, and the FCPA.  Her unique experience and background in corporate, trade, and international employment law provides a holistic approach for her clients in considering the regulatory environment in both the domestic and international context.  She regularly advises clients with respect to international employment issues including day-to-day compliance, strategic alliances, restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and post-acquisition integration. Ms. Simonian has significant experience assisting companies in developing and maintaining international workforces and structuring global mobility and expatriate processes to address the growing need to move talent and goods across borders.  In addition, she is active in the Future Leaders Program for the Pacific Council on International Policy, an international affairs organization focused on public policy issues impacting the West Coast. In this role, she works alongside a select group of prominent civic and business leaders to develop and implement strategies to prepare younger members for international public service.

.Bob Kestelik, Director of International Legal Affairs, Mattel, Inc.  Bob provides legal support to Mattel, Fisher-Price, American Girl, HiT Entertainment and MEGA Brands; advise multiple departments and executives in Global Supply Chain (planning, sourcing, manufacturing, quality and logistics), HR and International Sales & Marketing. Including contracts/transactions, litigation (ie, class actions, product liability and commercial disputes), real estate, regulatory (ranging from FCPA to CPSA), customs, maritime, international trade and corporate, Anti-Corruption Laws including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and U.K. Bribery Act; U.S. Trade Sanctions & Export Controls; WTO measures; e-commerce and establishing bricks-and-mortar retail operations in foreign jurisdictions including China; doing business and handling a wide variety of legal and government affairs issues in China, India, European Union, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. Licensed to practice law in New York and Texas and is registered in-house counsel with the State Bar of California.   Concurrently, Bob is an adjunct law professor Washington University School of Law, teaching a course called “Made in China” which addresses issues multinational corporations face when manufacturing and doing business in China.

Rachael McCrary Founder and CEO of Jewel Toned.  Rachael is a Shapewear Designer, Business Advisor, and Startup Founder. Based out of Los Angeles, she hails from Wilmington, North Carolina. A Southern belle and a natural entrepreneur, Rachael turned a profit with her first clothing company at just 16 years old.  After earning a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco, Rachael headed to New York to work for several large fashion companies. She was a Design Director by age 28, and had designed for Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Target, Forever 21, Kitson LA, Patricia Fields, Wal-Mart, Disney, Kohl’s, and many other retailers worldwide. To date, this fashion industry veteran has sold over 20 million units.  In 2006, her focus moved west as Rachael began consulting for various companies in California. In 2009 she conceptualized and built a Junior Intimates Brand that grossed $18 Million in two years. In 20013 she took her Intimate Apparel expertise and got to work making her Jewel Toned vision come true.  Rachael has been studying yoga and Eastern philosophy since 2001. In 2008 she became a certified yoga teacher after studying in Kerala, India. She’s able to apply this keen knowledge of the body’s movements to the products she designs. She currently resides in West Hollywood with frequent stops in New York and Southeast Asia.
