The first snow of the year always gives me pause. It muffles all sounds, turns the world into a blank canvas, and inspires me unequivocally to crank my kitchen at full steam.
When I was young in Fiesole I would wonder for hours, along with my younger brother, the olive orchard covered in fresh powder... looking for animal prints was a great way to get lost between the trees. To come home, from wherever we would end up, we only had to look above the tree line and spot the tiny grey line of smoke coming out of the farm's chimney, as the main fireplace would be on since the first coffee in the morning.
Fabio and I would only come back home when we eventually started loosing sensibility on our toes and fingers. We would arrive home where my mom would stripped us naked in the bathroom, toss all clothes in the bathtub, give us a robe and sit us in front of the fireplace... depending on the hour of the day we would be granted a hot chocolate or a dinner appetizer.
This event's menu is dedicated to those memorable winter dinners that were cooked over many hours by my mother and grandmother. Rubbing the steam off the kitchen windows to stare at the wind blowing or the snow falling, while helping out at the stove or simply hanging above the pot to smell dinner in the making, is still one of my fondest memories of those wonderful years.

As always, given the nature of our events and the small size of our room, tickets are transferrable but not refundable. Please double check your calendar before pulling the trigger!
Our shop is not a restaurant but rather a communal dining room. We do not fire our orders based on your arrival time, we do not use heating lamps and we get sad when our food gets cold because a guest is late. Pretend you are coming to dinner at grandma… mine used to smack me if I was late for Sunday supper. We won’t get physical, we will just start without you around 7.15.
