LA Arts Funders

Who We Are:

Los Angeles Arts Funders (LAAF) is an affinity group of public and private sector grantmakers that make arts grants in the Los Angeles County area. More than 45 people--executive directors, program officers and other staff--representing more than 40 foundations, participate in LAAF.

LAAF aims to:

* Strengthen the field of public and private sector arts grantmaking by improving communication, information exchange, and peer learning within the field as a whole.

* Support individual arts grantmakers in increasing their effectiveness and capacity to meet their objectives.

Primary activity:

Monthly meetings, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of every other month. LAAF members volunteer to host meetings on a rotating basis.

Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest:

To preserve the capacity for open and forthright discussion, all LAAF participants will maintain the confidentiality of the meetings.

Participating organizations that both make grants and solicit funds are expected to designate as representatives to LAAF only individuals whose role involves program and/or policy. Participants will refrain from fundraising during LAAF gatherings.
