Event description
We will explore a garden in Tokyo together again! Come with me into the deepest depths of Japanese gardens!

About this Event

It's time again for the next in-depth garden tour in Tokyo!

After our early summer tour we are heading into fall and will see some early autumn colors and roses in the Kyu-Furugawa garden!

The Kyu-Furukawa garden is another secret garden in Tokyo and often overseen by the tourists heading towards the Rikugien garden, which is located close in the same neighborhood.

While the Rikugien is a garden of the Edo period (1603-1868), the Kyu-Furukawa garden was build after Japan opened up in the Meiji period. While the huge mansion with western garden on the grounds was planned by the British architect Josiah Conder, the Japanese garden was designed by Kyoto's famous gardener Ogawa Jihei.

We will explore this unique collaboration of British, French, Italian and Kyoto elements together and I am sure I will tell you stories you haven't heard before!

As a trained gardener I will also be able to answer your very specific questions on the garden, plants, and construction!

Get your ticket now and I will see you there!
