Description

This celebration of Ujima, the third principle of Kwanzaa, will feature Giwayen Mata, the dynamic, all-sistah dance, percussion and vocal ensemble. Also experience a traditional pouring of libations and a candle lighting ceremony facilitated by Mr. Chike Akua. This concert is hosted by The Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History. There will be two performances 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Must present ticket to attend the Kwanzaa concert.

While at this unique annual celebration, don’t forget to stop by the multimedia and interactive exhibit: The Soul of Philanthropy Reframed and Exhibited #TSOPATL. This national moving exhibit is in Atlanta for a limited time and is all about connecting and celebrating the roots of black philanthropy in our American past, present and future. Stop in to see #TSOPATL while you revel in the spirit of Ujima: collective work and responsibility and help us dispel the myths on the collective community energy of generosity in our culture backed by action.
