Join County Executive Calvin Ball , the Howard County Office of Human Rights & Equity and Howard County's Parks & Recreation for our Annual Kwanzaa festivities! This year we are pleased to partner with the following co-sponsors: Harriet Tubman Cultural Center, Howard County Chapter of NAACP, Howard County Center of African American Culture, The Council of Elders (TCOE), The Links, Inc. Columbia (MD) Chapter, African American Community Roundtable of Howard County, and the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights.
Celebrate African American culture and the seven principles of Kwanzaa. With inspirational presentations and musical performances we will explore creativity, self-determination, and faith of the Black community.
Doors open at 5:30 PM so you can tour the new Harriet Tubman Cultural Center, support local vendors, and let your children explore the Kwanzaa themed kid's corner.
Our Kwanzaa program begins at 6: 00 PM with a reception to follow.
