Career Visioning

Great businesses succeed in direct proportion to the talent they bring on board. Career Visioning and the KPA provide proven systems to ensure that the best and the brightest – the talent most likely to succeed in the role – join your team or Market Center and take your business to the next level.

Your success will not be measured by how much you get done; it will be measured by how much you get done through other people. Career Visioning is the first in a series of leadership training courses designed to empower you to find, train and lead your future talent.

Learn to verify Job Fit and Personal Reports for hiring and recruiting.
Master a comprehensive interview process that reduces the guesswork and enables you to thoroughly understand and build relationships with potential talent.
Set your new business relationships up for success with expectations that empower.

Anyone wanting to build a successful business through other people. The systems and tools in this course are applicable to any hire or recruit. Only the class coordinator needs to purchase manuals for a scheduled course.

Instructors: Smokey Garrett and Holly Serben

Smokey Garrett

Smokey Garrett, Regional Director of the Keller Williams Realty North Texas-New Mexico-Memphis Region, has always understood the fastest path to massive success is through the implementation of proven models. He has achieved tremendous success with this mindset.

Launching his career as a competitor in the sport of cutting horses, Smokey dominated the field to become rookie of the year and world champion. Then, after graduating from college with a double major—business and marketing—he went directly into real estate.

In his first year as an agent, he once again was the rookie of the year. As he implemented the models and systems of The Millionaire Real Estate Agent in his agent business, he grew his team to 13, sold more than 200 homes per year, and earned $1 million in GCI, while only working 3.5 days a week.

Looking for a larger opportunity, he took on the role of Team Leader in the Arlington, Texas, Market Center. By systematically implementing the tools, systems, and conversations of the Growth Initiative and Career Growth Initiative, Smokey grew the office from 13th in the Arlington market to the most profitable in the entire Keller Williams Realty system. Through his leadership, the Market Center became the first office to profit share more than $1 million in one year. As Smokey led his agents to successfully implement models and systems in their businesses, his office’s agent count grew from 60 to more than 680 in 2016.

Smokey is now the Operating Principal of the Arlington Market Center and 12 additional offices, as well as Regional Director. He continues to lead others to implement the tools, systems, and conversations of the Growth Initiative and Career Growth Initiative so that they may achieve their greatest success. In fact, Smokey considers his greatest professional accomplishment to be the opportunity to teach and help others develop into leaders who achieve their Big Goals.

Holly Serben

Holly Serben, Regional Operations Manager of the Keller Williams Realty North Texas-New Mexico-Memphis Region, has always been a learning-based servant leader. She is someone who loves to build powerful and effective systems, dig into numbers to understand the mechanics of a business, and teach others how to do these activities so they can succeed.

Holly began her career with Keller Williams Realty as an agent in the Arlington, Texas, Market Center. As she focused on building systems in her own business, she saw the natural alignment with her Market Center’s business. When an MCA position opened in the office, she seized the opportunity. The MCA role would become a pivotal position in her development as a leader and would make a tremendously positive impact on all aspects of her life.

Soon after taking on the MCA role, her Team Leader left to pursue another opportunity. As a new MCA without a TL, Holly developed close relationships with her agents and began training them on how to read their financial statements.

Then, Smokey Garrett arrived as Team Leader and John Davis as Operating Principal. As a leadership team, they began implementing the tools, systems, and conversations of the Growth Initiative and Career Growth Initiative. Systematized servant leadership took on a whole new dimension of effectiveness. Smokey worked with Holly to guide her development as a leader and then to validate her leadership. As Holly supported her agents’ business growth, she was able to quantify their results into metrics they could use to attain greater business success. Additionally, while using these tools to focus on evidence, Holly was able to better lead her staff, which allowed her to expand her activities. Holly became a leader who was on a constant growth path and who continuously amplified the support she was able to provide through effective systems. At the same time, as her vision and expertise expanded, she exercised greater leadership in the Market Center’s financial decisions.

Holly attributes the education and growth she experienced in the MCA role with her Team Leader, Smokey, to her ongoing opportunities and resulting success. She has ownership in two Market Centers, has had investment opportunities in buildings, is Operations Manager for 12 additional Market Centers, and is Regional Operations Manager.
