About this event
Bluegrass Unlimited calls Ryan Shupe and The RubberBand a “fresh hybrid of new music influenced by bluegrass but featuring the percussive fervor of rock, rap, and other styles… They bring imaginative arrangements and daring musicianship to their quintet sound.” Salt Lake City Weekly says, “Ryan Shupe & the RubberBand are pros without peer... Their intense performance went far beyond ‘good’; try ‘humbling’.” Now in its 35th year, the Choral Arts Society of Utah’s 100-voice choir is based in Salt Lake City. In June of this year, the choir performed a series of concerts in France, including participating in the ceremonies at the American Cemeteries in Normandy. The choir’s most recent performance celebrated pioneer spirit in Salt Lake’s Abravanel Hall for the 25th performance of the Days of ’47 KUTV Pops Concert. Many of the choir’s performances are benefit concerts for schools and organizations providing humanitarian services to local areas. See a complete listing of the choir’s upcoming performances at www.casu.org or find them on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The West Valley Symphony of Utah performs annually with the Choral Arts Society of Utah for the KUTV/Salvation Army Holiday Pops concert to benefit the Angel Tree Program, as well as participating in Utah Cultural Celebration Center’s WorldStage! concert series. We are often sought for additional events in surrounding communities.
This concert is funded in part by grants from the Salt Lake County Zoo Arts & Parks (ZAP), the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Foundation, and the Joseph & Kathleen Sorenson Legacy Foundation.
