Event description

Description

ACNC is partnering with Kulture City to make sure both of our sites are certified sensory inclusive. Sensory inclusion allows individuals with autism, PTSD, early onset dementia, stroke and other sensory needs the ability to see and experience all the things the world has to offer and also promotes daily accessibility.

As part of the process to become sensory inclusive, all staff* and volunteers who work directly with guest are asked to participate in a brief training facilitated by the Kulture City staff. The training provides an understanding of:

  • What sensory processing issues are

  • What sensory processing issues may look like and potential patterns

  • How sensory issues may limit full involvement or require modifications in service in our facilities

  • Strategies, tools, modifications and methods that may be used specific to that business that will heighten the comfort level and provide a positive experience for all guests

*Includes Guest Services/Experiences, Education, Park Rangers, HR, Grounds Quality and Events.

Though the training is mandatory for those who work directly with guests, all staff, volunteers, and 3rd party vendors (Lancer, Event Nework, Photogenic) are encourage to participate. For those that can't make the in-person training, we will provide link for an online version following the in-person date.
