Event description

Description

ABDNYC is finally bringing Kuduro to NYC! Manuel is visiting from Angola and we're so excited to host a series of classes with him this May!

Manuel hails from Angola, the birth place of Kuduro, and choreographs, directs, and teaches throughout Europe and South America. He choreographed the Guinness Africa special commercial alongside Kibwe Tavares, Diesel Jeans commercial for the European market, South America's largest dance event RIOH2K, and the movie "I Love Kuduro". Last year he was nominated as one of Africa's best dancers by AFRIMMA.

What is Kuduro? It is an Angolan dance invented by Toni Amado in the 90s when he was inspired by Jean Claude Van Damme's dancing in the movie "Kickboxer". It started as a single dance move (kuduro translates to "hard a$$") and since then has exploded into an intricate dance discipline.

Want to learn more? Manuel teaches Kuduro around the world and is gracing NYC with a fun and informative Kuduro 101 class that you don't want to miss! Grab your tickets while they last!
