Event description

Description

Every second Saturday is an open community day that we have at Kualoa/Hakipuʻu, a stream restoration/loʻi area. Weed wet and/or dryland mala, clear the path of the stream, huki and plant Kalo. We start into Hakipuʻu at about 9:00 AM and come back around 12 PM depending on the group. The hike is about 10 minutes and pretty flat.

On the hike to and from the parking lot we walk through a couple of movie scenes that were shot on the Ranch and talk story about the Hawaiian moʻolelos of the area. Wearing tabies probably would be the most universal, but shoes are fine and if you get into the mud, you can take them off.

Hope to see you there. Coming from Kaneʻohe, it’s the driveway on the right side of the road right after passing the Coral Kingdom building on your left. There is a red and white wooden sign with 49-139 street # on it. Just park in the gravel lot in that driveway. Keiki are welcome.
