Start the day off right with Kripalu Yoga, which is the yoga of compassion, designed to develop a greater sense of non-judgmental self awareness. The focus is on the health and well-being of your body, for your mind and for your spirit. This class will begin with warm-up movements and breath awareness to prepare you for yoga postures. The heart of the class is a sequence of postures that stretch, strengthen and balance your body. Each class ends with deep relaxation and meditation. All levels are welcome. By offering a gradient approach to the practice, new students can comfortably and safely practice side-by-side with seasoned practitioners.
Students should wear loose fitting clothing and bring a yoga mat, beach towel or small blanket, and bottled water. Additional yoga props including yoga straps, blocks, and tennis balls will be available for use.
There is the option to register for a drop-in class or a 10-class card. If you are registering for all 10 weeks of yoga, the class dates will be as follows:

For so many of us, the new year is a blank slate, a fresh opportunity to begin new habits that will help us to become healthier versions of ourselves. Despite the best of intentions, though, most Americans who make fitness-related resolutions will fall short of their goals. Perhaps the reason for this is that most people lack the information needed to bring about lasting change and improved wellness. However, if more people had the basic tools needed to make informed decisions about diet, exercise, and goal setting itself, then a greater number may finally enjoy real, life-improving success.
The purpose of this free class is to do just that, equip its participants with information that will help them live healthier lives. Topics will include, among others, the use of SMART goals, establishing dietary needs, and understanding the body’s response to various types of exercise.
Participants should leave the class feeling energized and well equipped to follow through on their resolutions, making 2017 a year of positive change.
About Patrick Kinney: After nearly forty years in the Washington metropolitan area, where he worked as a teacher and writer, Patrick moved to Massachusetts in 2015. Here, he opened Custom Fit Training in Plainville, MA, with the intention of sharing his knowledge and love of fitness to help others in the community live healthier, happier lives. Through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Patrick has earned the designation of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, as well as NSCA- Certified Personal Trainer. He is a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach and has also coached high school lacrosse and various other sports at the youth level. In 2015, Patrick was voted Best Coach (Runner Up) in Loudoun County, VA, a county of approximately 350,000 people.

ABOUT LISA: Lisa Cohen, RYT-500, is an Ayurvedic Health Counselor in training and Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher certified at both the 200 and 500 hour level by the Kripalu School of Yoga and Ayurveda in Stockbridge, MA. Lisa will complete the final requirements of her Ayurvedic Yoga and Health Counselor training in August 2016. Lisa believes yoga is for EVERY BODY and has a special interest in working with diverse populations and people who may not think of themselves as "traditional" yoga practitioners. Lisa is also CPR/AED Certified through the American Heart Association. She currently offers Ayurvedic Health Workshops and Kripalu Yoga Programs throughout Southeastern, MA.
