Kona Little Fire Ant Management Workshops
The County of Hawaii has launched a Little Fire Ant (LFA) voucher program to reduce the initial costs for selected ant bait toxicants and hand spreaders. A limited supply of vouchers will be available to adults age 18 and over who have attended and completed a Little Fire Ant Workshop. Little Fire Ant Workshops hosted by the County Department of Research and Development and led by the Hawaii Ant Lab will be held at the Kona Extension Office in Kealakekua and also at the Aupuni Conference Room in Hilo. The workshops are open to anyone interested in learning more about the Little Fire Ant's biology, habits, life cycle, and appropriate control measures. Class size is limited and registration is required. We provide access to our activities without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, or disability. If you require reasonable modifications due to disability please call Glenn Sako at 961-8811, ten working days prior to the event you register to attend.
