Event description
Brilliantly Black Hip Hop Community Cypher

About this Event

The February 2020 Hip Hop Community Cypher will be in honor of the Legendary Kobe Bryant, 2 days prior to his Memorial at Staples Center.

Black History month got off to a wack start with celebrities not supporting each other, and disrespecting and threatening each other. Let's use this time to discuss things in our own lives: Accountability, Timing, Why it is that black people end up fighting publicly so often and Controlling the discourse around our great culture that the world loves.

But more importantly, let's discuss solutions and better ways for moving forward together.

Last month's Cypher was a screening of the film "The Dope Years" and discussed the themes of the short film.

  1. Mixer to follow the discussion.
  2. The Cyphers are interactive - you will be using your phone to ask & answer questions, Your answers will be anonymously displayed on-screen. Please charge you cell phone.
  3. Drinks available for $6 & $8. Edibles and Cannabis available.
  4. Other refreshments provided as usual.
  5. Bring old clothing to donate to Agora Temple's mission of helping the needy if you have any.
  6. We are an inclusive black-collective & we are focused on improving the emotional wellness and social justice issues impacting all people of the African diaspora. Part of what this means is that we believe in going beyond just tolerating our LGBTQ family, we embrace them with love.
