Event description

Description

The Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy invite you to join them for a day focused on how we are fully known and loved by God, as exemplified by Saint Faustina and the Samaritan woman. The day includes two spiritual talks, Confession, Mass, Adoration, veneration of Saint Faustina’s relic, time for personal prayer, and an opportunity to have spiritual conversations with the Sisters.

Note: you must either bring your own lunch or purchase one in advance for $10 at registration.

The greatest need we have as a human person is to be fully KNOWN and LOVED and God is the only one who can satisfy this hunger. St. Faustina’s life beautifully illustrates this truth. This is why we want to bring her closer to the people and to make her better known. In the first talk, Sr. Gaudia Skass OLM will show the people St. Faustina’s whole life story through this lens, emphasizing those moments that illustrate how she was KNOWN with all her weaknesses and LOVED by God in the truth of who she was.

The second talk will be a meditation on Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman (the woman at the well in John’s Gospel). This meditation will help us to see how well God knows each and every one of us, how He knows even the darkest, most shameful and wounded parts of our hearts that we ourselves are often afraid to take in hand. But, in the encounter with Him, we can face these areas within us and see them through His merciful eyes: redeemed, embraced and brought back to life.

We hope that this Day of Recollection will help each and every one of us to personally encounter the Merciful Savior and see ourselves with His loving eyes. The day will include an opportunity for silence, personal prayer, spiritual conversations, veneration of St. Faustina’s Relic, Confession, Mass and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
