Event description

Description

Universal design is the design of products and environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design. Because of universal design, people in all stages of life can all enjoy the same home, and that home will be there for all its inhabitants even when their needs change.

Join LakewoodAlive and Maximum Accessible Housing of Ohio (MAHO) for this unique workshop to discover how to bring the seven principles of Universal Design to your home. We’ll give clear examples of features you can add and improvements you can make to increase the accessibility and safety of your home so that people of all ages can enjoy it.

Knowing Your Home is an educational series focused on best sustainability & home maintenance practices empowering residents to tackle necessary repairs and improvements.

Knowing Your Home is generously supported by: Citizens Bank, City of Lakewood, Ohio - Municipal Government, Cleveland Lumber Company, First Federal Lakewood

In lieu of charging for these events, participants are encouraged to either consider making a donation to LakewoodAlive or bringing canned foods or other non-perishable items for donation to the Lakewood Community Services Center. We appreciate your support
