The Alzheimer's Association will be be presenting a free course called Know the 10 Signs; Early Detections Matters. This course lays out the ground work for recognizing when mild memory loss is part of normal aging (or the stress of caregiving) and when its time to get it checkout professionally. Early detection is very important for people experiencing memory impairment or behavioral changes. Some forms of dementia are caused by medical conditions that may be treated, there are some drug interventions that may help individuals function better, and clinical studies may be available to those with an early diagnosis. However, possibly the most important factor: An early diagnosis may give the individual time to make plans for the future. They are better able to help their family and friends understand their own preference for treatment and care.
