LIFE Center Stage, Community Coalition for a Safe & Healthy Morris, Morris County Stigma-Free, Morris County and Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey created a Songwriters Scholarship Contest to help raise awareness of the opioid epidemic that has adversely impacted far too many lives.

We invited musicians who are truly passionate about the cause, to make a difference through song to help educate and bring hope to those affected by this epidemic. Seven finalists will perform at the Knock Out Opioid Abuse Day Concert held on October 4 from 6 – 8pm at Malcolm Forbes Amphitheatre at Morristown Medical Center, 100 Madison Ave, Morristown, NJ. There will be a special performance by the winners of the 2017 Knock Out Opioid Abuse Contest, the winners from Shoutdown Drugs and guest speakers include Barbara Kauffman from the Community Coalition for a Safe & Healthy Morris and Angela Conover from Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey.

Audience members will be invited to vote for their favorite anthem song by using a poll on LifeCenterStage.org The winning song based on popular vote will be announced after The Inspire Project performance, and become the Knockout Opioid Abuse Anthem for the year 2018-2019! The winner will be awarded $500, recorded in a professional studio and havep private vocal coaching and productions by Lorraine Ferro.
