Knitting with Squares and Rectangles - a Knit Club in the City Workshop at Village Books.This course will introduce techniques which allow the creation of a patchwork of squares and rectangles from which larger pieces such as scarves, cushion covers and baby blankets can be constructed.

This will be achieved by learning and practicing the following techniques:

• Knit, purl & stocking stitch
• Introducing stripes & more complex stitches such as rib, moss, basket weave stitch & cables
• Casting on and casting off
• Making up & finishing off
• Learning how to read/recognize the symbols used in knitting patterns

The course will be held upstairs in the bookshop at Village Books.

Please bring your own 5mm needles with 3-5 balls of Aran weight yarn & a notebook for recording techniques learned & project ideas.

It will be suitable for beginners or as a refresher course.
