Knitting Beyond The Basics: Knitting An Aran Sweater
Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PST)
Much like the beliefs about Ireland's four-leaf clovers and St. Patrick driving out the snakes, the story of the Aran sweater is strictly myth. Nonetheless, it has become as much a part of Irish culture as soda bread, Guinness and claddagh rings.
Discover the history, mystery and lore of Irish knitting as you learn to knit your own authentic Aran sweater….
In this class you'll learn:
- The story of how the Aran Sweater became a global phenomenon
- How to design or modify an authentic Aran sweater pattern
- How to knit intricate cables
- How to read a cable chart
- How to chart written cable patterns
- How to keep track of where you are in the pattern
