Children will dive deep into their imaginations, as they become knights, outlaws, maidens, and more in this medieval world in the woods. Children will create a life-sized castle and outlaw camps and then “battle” to defend their side of the woods. They will also cook a medieval feast, practice jousting, dig for dragon eggs, and even paint with catapults. This week is sure to inspire and create lasting memories for years to come.

Are there age requirements?

Primary school-aged children are welcome to attend this programme. Age guide: 5 - 11 years.

What happens if the weather is poor?

TimberNook programmes run regardless of the weather on the day. We use our sheltered and warm woolshed classroom as a base for our outdoor play and adventures and are well equipped with blankets & towels. We will venture outside! Please pack a warm change of clothes, rain jacket and quality walking shoes.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from TimberNook Wellington?

TimberNook Wellington is based in a unique woolshed classroom within Belmont Regional Park. Only 25 minutes from the center of Wellington and on the doorstep of the Hutt Valley. You will find us at the end of Stratton Street, Normandale, Lower Hutt. A large carpark is available for drop-off and pick-up.

What should my child bring?

Your child will need a hearty snack, lunch, and water bottle. Dress in warm clothing and pack and change of clothing and wet weather gear for outdoor play. The most suitable footwear is gumboots or walking shoes that you are happy to get wet.

What's the refund policy?

There is a $50 non-refundable deposit for school holiday programme cancellation. Cancellations received at least 4 weeks prior to the start of your camp will receive a full refund MINUS the $50 deposit. All other cancellations are ineligible for a refund.
