Event description

Description

KnightED Talks at the UCF College of Education and Human Performance (CEDHP) is a Professional Learning for Teacher Candidates initiative that supplements the teacher preparation provided by coursework and field experiences. It enhances the quality of UCF’s initial teacher certification program, contributing to the development of highly credentialed teacher education graduates, and increasing their marketability in today’s competitive job market. KnightED Talks underscores the importance of life-long learning and professional and personal growth in becoming a highly effective educator.

The program consists of KnightED Talks workshops conducted by university faculty and PreK-12 educators with expertise in areas of relevance to the teaching profession, including job interviewing tips and classroom management. All KnightED Talks workshops are free! Students are encouraged to preregister for each workshop; attendance is collected workshops for students that are required to attend.

In the spring, KnightED Talks hosts the KnightED Talks Student Showcase highlighting UCF CEDHP teacher candidates as presenters. This experience provides our students with a tremendous opportunity for professional growth. This in-house conference takes place the last Saturday of January.

Workshops are held in the Teaching Academy and begin at 4:30 p.m.; check the UCF CEDHP calendar for specific workshop location details:
