The WVC Alumni Association presents the second annual Knight Fright Ride, a costume-themed bike ride with two routes available. Prizes will be given out to the best dressed, most creative, etc.! There will be a 10-mile route around the Apple Capital Loop Trail and an out and back 40-mile ride utilizing the Apple Capital Loop Trail and riding out to Anjou Bakery in Cashmere.
Starting and ending at Saddle Rock Pub & Brewery, an event will take place at the brewery after the ride where a beer, created just for you riders, will be half off (for the first beer).
Join us for a nice fall ride that benefits WVC scholarships!
Registration includes ride support, a half-off beer token, and a Knight Fright Ride water bottle.
This ride is for everyone: families, beginners, and leisurely riders! Plus, kids 12-and-under ride for free. It will start at 12:00 p.m., at the bridge near Saddle Rock Pub & Brewery. This ride will have lead riders and other riders providing support along the way. There will be a support stop at 19th St in East Wenatchee. Course map: click here.
This ride will start at 10:00 a.m. at the bridge next to Saddle Rock Pub & Brewery. The ride will head south on the Apple Capital Loop Trail and ride out to Lincoln Rock using the new extension of the loop trail. Riders will turn around at the end of the Lincoln Rock extension and head back to the main part of the trail. The ride then jumps off the trail after crossing the Odabashen Bridge on the North end of town and taking back roads through Sleepy Hallow and Monitor to the Anjou Bakery in Cashmere. NO HIGHWAY RIDING INVOLVED. Food stops will be at the end of the Lincoln Rock extension and Anjou Bakery. This ride, located in the Lower Valley of the Wenatchee River, offers views of orchards, wineries, rivers and mountains. Course map: click here.
**We do ask that riders bring extra tubes in case of a flat and two water bottles. However, we understand that things happen, and people forget! This will be a supported ride.
This year we are encouraging riders to help raise funds for scholarships! Check out our crowdfunding page. Be sure to share this and encourage your friends and family to help raise funds for scholarships at WVC. Shirts with the Knight Fright Ride logo will be sold for $20 with all proceeds benefitting scholarships! Thirsty after the ride? Buy a Knight Fright IPA at Saddle Rock Pub & Brewery and part of the proceeds benefit scholarships.
From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., on October 21, you will be able to pick your riding packet up at Pybus Public Market at 3 N Worthen St. If you are unable to make it to Pybus, you will be able to pick your packet up in front of Saddle Rock Pub & Brewery between 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. the morning of the ride. Day of Registration is $50.
