Knight Arts Challenge Akron 2019 Information Sessions

Join Knight Foundation’s Arts Director Priya Sircar and Arts Program Officer Adam Ganuza for a series of events March 20 – April 5, 2019 to get tips on applying to the Knight Arts Challenge, which will offer a share of $1 million for the best ideas for the arts in Akron. They include:
Community Conversations, where Adam and Priya will go over the challenge basics, timeline, and what we’re looking for in applications, and you'll hear from past winners:
- Wednesday, March 20, 2019, 5:30–8 p.m. at the Akron Civic Theater, 182 S Main St, Akron, OH 44308. RSVP here.
- Thursday, March 21, 2019, 6–8 p.m. Two locations:
- Exchange House, 760 Elma St, Akron, OH 44310
- Urban Akron League, 440 Vernon Odom Blvd, Akron, OH 44307
- Friday, March 22, 2019: 7:30-8:30 a.m.: Front Porch Café, 798 Grant St, Akron, OH 44311
- Thursday, April 4, 2019: 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. at the Maple Valley Branch Library, 1187 Copley Rd, Akron, OH 44320 (Note: Drop-in style office hours will be available from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the small conference room and then from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the community room. A brief presentation by Adam and Priya about the challenge will take place at 3:00 p.m. in the community room. Signage will be available)
Workshop Q&A, where Adam and Priya answer questions related to the process of applying to the challenge:
- Wednesday, April 3, 2019, 6-7:30 p.m. The Mustard Seed, 867 W Market St, Akron, OH 44308.
Office Hours, where you can meet one-on-one with either Priya Sicar or Adam Ganuza for 15 minutes, for individualized feedback:
- Thursday, April 4, 2019: 5-8:30 p.m. (Two 15 minute session sign-ups available at each time slot) at Compass Coffee, 647 E Market St, Akron, OH 44304
- Friday, April 5, 2019: 9-11 a.m. (Two 15 minute session sign-ups available at each time slot) at Exchange House, 760 Elma St, Akron, OH 44310
