This class is designed to help you learn how to defend yourself against and with a common knife. In an ever changing environment where your safety may be threatened, self defense training is a must for your average active person. Knives are one of the most commonly available weapons- found in kitchens, workshops or even on your person. If you are seriously attacked the chance that you will face someone carrying a knife is high- and if you are facing overwhelming odds a knife that you carry might be your only chance of survival. This class is designed to teach you about both sides of the knife' how to defend against it and how to use it to protect yourself in a life threatening altercation!
This class will cover the legalities of carrying and using a knife, the types of knives you can carry and how to use them. How to disarm someone with a knife and how to minimize the chance that you will receive a life threatening cut/stab yourself. We will discuss at length the strengths and weaknesses of the knife and how they can be used and exploited to your advantage. Practical hands-on work will give you the skills and motor reflexes to effectively apply what you learn.
This class will be physically active. expect to sweat and get out of breath.
