About this event
The City of Litchfield Park and Kiwanis Club of Litchfield Park are teaming up to host our annual Trout Fishing Derby on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Tierra Verde Lake. The lake will be stocked with 750 pounds of rainbow trout for the derby. The derby is traditionally a fun family event. Age group trophies are awarded in various categories, including largest trout caught, smallest trout caught and most trout caught. There will also be opportunities to win raffle prizes.
This rain or shine event will run from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. A fee of $15.00 per session space will be charged to each participant or group when registering online. A fishing license is not needed to take part in the derby; however, participants must bring their own poles and bait.
Online Registration Only - Derby registration will be online only again this year, so that we can track and limit the number of derby participants. No walk-up registrations. No overnight or pre-dawn camping allowed.
Two Fishing Sessions – Anglers can sign up for one or both of two sessions. The morning session (sold out) is for those wanting to compete for a trophy. The afternoon session is more relaxed. This is a fun time for those with young kids and those hoping to win great raffle prizes. All are ages are welcome to fish in either session. You are also able to purchase tickets for both sessions if you would like to fish all day!
AM session is open from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. - COMPETITIVE EVENT (SOLD OUT)
PM session is open from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. - RECREATIONAL FISHING
