Event description

Description

Kitchen Table Talks, provided by G.O.A.L.S (Greater Options and Assistance for Lifelong Success), are free culturally-sensitive social support groups of 4 to 6 people who identify with the African American experience facilitated by caring, natural helpers from Sacramento County’s African American communities.

We will be hosting a Youth's kitchen table talk on Wednesday October 25th, 2017 from 6:30p.m. to 8 p.m. located @ 1217 Del Paso Blvd in Sacramento, CA. We welcome you to join us as the theme for this group will be "Managing teen and young adult stressors" we will be talking about our everyday stressors as of our young people, how to cope, and how to take care of our mental health. We will be discussing bullying, isolation, and stress. GOALS create safe spaces in culturally familiar ways to help people voice their concerns while being able to network to get support, encouragement, and resources. Our goal is to help reduce the risks of a problem developing into crisis or worst emotional challenges. Please remember no matter how hard life gets you are not alone. Light Refreshments and beverages will be provided & it’s a FREE event. Groups tend to fill up fast so please RSVP by emailing me directly at lakisha@goalsforwomen.com, or sign up through eventbrite.
