Description

Kirk Whipple & Marilyn Morales, Duo Pianists & Composers in Concert

Internationally renowned husband and wife pianists Whipple & Morales present a series of concerts to celebrate the end of their twelfth season of events as directors of Cranberry Coast Concerts. The duo’s program will showcase a broad range of selections from their extensive repertoire of classical, contemporary and original works. They will perform pieces for one piano / four hands in Attleboro, Wareham and Foxborough. In Wrentham, they will present a program of works for two pianos. Also on the program will be surprise guests from this summer’s concert season.

Whipple & Morales have toured the world together for over a quarter of a century, performing in a wide variety of ensembles and concert settings. They were married in a 1992 ceremony that included the world premier of their original “Concerto in B Minor for Two Pianos and Orchestra.” Founders and directors of Cranberry Coast Concerts, the duo also performs with The United Nations Piano Quartet (The UNPQ) and The Unconservatory Festival Orchestra (The UFO). Their recording with The UFO, “Danzas Para Dos Pianos y Orquesta” (Dances For Two Pianos and Orchestra), has been widely acclaimed and garnered Whipple the prestigious Florida State Individual Artist Festival for his original compositions.

Morales has received rave reviews during the past two years in Florida and Massachusetts for concert workshop productions of her original musical about the Cuban-American experience, “Always Remember.” Last year, in Monaco and Massachusetts, The UNPQ gave the world premier performances and recordings of Symphony in C Major: Paths to Redemption by David A. Randall, arranged by Whipple.

There are no advance tickets for these performances. Donations will be accepted at the concert. Doors will open 30 minutes before each performance.
