On February 6th, The Porch will bring together the esteemed literary and performing artists Mary Karr and Rodney Crowell for our second annual fundraiser, an evening of story and song like no other. Mary Karr is an award-winning poet and best-selling memoirist, author of The Liars’ Club, Cherry, and Lit. This fall she released The Art of Memoir, further establishing her place in the canon of American memoirists. Not only that, she’s a songwriter to boot. Rodney Crowell, who co-wrote and produced Karr’s first album, Kin, in 2012, has been a celebrated singer, songwriter, and producer for twenty-five years and is also the author of a critically acclaimed memoir, Chinaberry Sidewalks. In short, this duo is poised to offer Nashville another magical night of world-class literature and music, all in support of Nashville's one-and-only center for writing.
