Welcome to the King's Edge Unconference - Reimagining Enrichment at King's!
For this unconference, the focus will be: Reimagining new ways to configure and deliver enrichment opportunities for students through partnership, purpose and participation.
📍 Science Gallery London | 1 July | 10:00–16:30
Firstly, what is an ‘unconference’? 🔍
Unlike a traditional conference, an unconference is participant-led, dynamic, and co-created. It’s about meaningful conversation, curiosity, and co-creation — not passive listening. The structure is shaped by those in the room, and your voice matters. Together, we’ll explore how staff across King’s can help shape a more purposeful, connected, and impactful student experience.
Now for the details... 💡
Join Professor Mark Peace and team for a day of engaging discussions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities at the Science Gallery London. The unconference is an opportunity for us to showcase and celebrate the innovative enrichment activities across King's College London. Whether you’re involved in co-curricular learning, student-led initiatives or community-based projects, we’d love for you to be part of this celebration.
The day will be filled with break-out sessions, spontaneous conversations, key-note speakers and a Q&A Panel. Is there a particular topic you'd like to discuss or share? This is your opportunity to do so.
Here is a quick overview of our agenda 🔗 :
- Light breakfast on arrival
- “What If…” discussion stations to spark early thinking
- Short soapbox moments with provocations from colleagues and students
- A Q&A panel in fishbowl format, centring student voice and staff experience
- Lunch break
- Afternoon breakout sessions, co-created and voted on by you
- A keynote reflection from Debbie McVitty (Wonkhe) who will also talk about extra-curricular developments in the HE sector
- Hear about next steps in the strategy for King’s Edge from Professor Mark Peace
- A closing session bringing our collective insights into action
Who can attend?👥
This event is open to King's College London staff with an interest or who are already involved in enrichment. By 'enrichment', we mean literally ANYTHING that sits outside of core course provision.
