Description
The Full Moon will be out this week and we are excited to announce another Full Moon Outing—a continuation of the series of rides and picnics we have been hosting this summer.
And this time, the torches are lit, the theme is set... We're having a luau you won't soon forget! Dress code is Kitschy Tourist (we wanna see some great Jimmy Buffet impressions!) Put on your wildest Hawaiian shirts and shades or rainbow ensembles and join us for a Luau Ride and Party!
The ride will be departing from our shop (1019 7th Street NW) at 8 pm. Before the ride leaves, we will be handing out glowsticks and leis for all riders, so show up early and get further kitted out. Thus outfitted, we will ride through the city winding our way to Kingman Island, a tranquil hideaway on the Anacostia River.
Once at Kingman Island we will be treated to hula dancers and fire knife throwers by Aloha Island Revue who will also be teaching Hula lessons to all comers. Representatives from the exciting new development in Shaw, City Market at O, are going to be handing out gelato samples and we are arranging to have a food truck on hand for all your non-desert needs, details forthcoming. Feel free to bring blankets, drinks, and food of your own to round out our Full Moon Outing.
Please RSVP to our Facebook event and register here for the ride so that we can know how many people are coming. And, if you are willing to help set up the party or serve as a marshal along the ride route, kindly send a message to volunteer@bicyclespacedc.com. Volunteers can earn $20 in store credit for pitching in!
After registering, stay tuned for details to be sent by email.
