King County Refugee Housing Summit
Date and time
Description
You are invited to attend the King County Refugee Housing Summit. This is a full-day community forum focused on developing critical strategies to address the housing needs of recently arrived refugees in King County.
More than 6,000 refugees have resettled in King County, Washington in the past two to three years, and over 10,000 refugees have rebuilt their lives in the county in the past five years. Refugees arriving in King County today are facing a critical challenge of finding affordable housing. With the costs of living on the rise, refugees are challenged by a gap between their monthly income and their rent.
A cross-sectional group of organizations have come together to address this emerging need. The planning committee for the summit includes refugee resettlement agencies, ethnic community based organizations, King County and Seattle Housing Authorities, private banks and foundations, Seattle/King County Continuum of Care, the State Office of Refugee & Immigrant Assistance and many others.
We look forward to having you join us to develop a strategic action plan to address the affordable housing crisis that is facing refugees in King County.
