Event description
Celebrate the opening of Yukon’s first Story Trail!

About this event

Festivities of the day include a ribbon cutting, face painting, crafts, and more!

The grand opening features “Grady’s in the Silo”, the story of Yukon’s most famous cow. Local author UnaBelle Townsend will be on-site reading her popular picture book.

As attendees enjoy a self-paced stroll through the park, they will have the opportunity to learn about a piece of local history while enjoying festive activities.

The Kimbell Park Story Trail consists of 22 permanent panels that feature rotating picture books, local history, guided exercise, and other engaging materials.

Participants who complete a survey at the end of Story Trail will receive a free children’s book by visiting the library (while supplies last).

Parking is available in front of Kimbell Bay Pool, 525 S 7th Street.

The project was funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Oklahoma Department of Libraries, and the Ladies Library Club.
