FAQs

Can I have my own room?

Yes, it's just an additional $200, select that ticket type and if you forgot, just email us and we'll get you set up.

Can I bring someone who is not attending the conference?

Yes, just buy your ticket then select the "Attendee Guest" option. They get their room and food and can go have fun in Colorado without you :) If you want them to come to any events, please register them for the conference.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

We think you'll be best able to focus on the event without your kids there, however, if you want your family to come, you can book independently with the YMCA of the Rockies. They will be in a different lodge, but you can hang out as you see fit. If you want a spouse or partner to share a room with you, they'll just need to buy another ticket and request that when you book with us.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There are numerous options for getting from the DEN airport to the YMCA of the Rockies.

The Estes Park Center is located just outside of the village of Estes Park, Colo., and is surrounded on three sides by Rocky Mountain National Park. It is about a five to ten minute drive from the YMCA to downtown Estes Park and 74 miles from Denver.

YMCA of the Rockies has two beautiful locations. Its other location, Snow Mountain Ranch, is located in Granby, Colo., near Winter Park and just over 90 miles from Denver.

Estes Park Shuttle:
The Estes Park Shuttle offers transportation from Denver International Airport and other Denver-area locations. Please see their website for schedule and prices.

Town of Estes Park Free Shuttle
During late June through early September, the Town of Estes Park offers a free guest shuttle that makes stops at various location in the Town of Estes Park including YMCA of the Rockies. Learn more and view routes on their website.

Ride Sharing
The availability of Lyft and Uber in the Estes Park area is extremely limited. For a taxi, call Estes Park Taxi (970) 372-9888. Or post in the Facebook group to ride share or see who has rented a car.

Rocky Mountain National Park Hiker Shuttle
During busy summer months, Rocky Mountain National Park highly recommends using the Park’s shuttle system to avoid crowded parking lots. Learn more and view routes on their website.

What can I bring into the event?

You'll get a full packing list before the event that we'll email and post in the Facebook Group. October in CO can be warm, cold, rainy, and sometimes snowy so you'll want layers. Also, on Monday, you'll have the option to do some outdoor activities like hiking, so bring walking shoes if you plan to do that. We'll have campfires too. In other words, bring clothes for any weather and look at the forecast.

The actual conference sessions will be in the same lodge we're staying in, but we'll want to get outside to see the beautiful Rockie Mountains.

Can I buy extra drink tickets?

We hope so, we're looking into it. You are also welcome to bring your own beverages, the YMCA just asks that we not walk around publically with them, since there may be some kids on campus.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

You can email Sam, our conference planner at samrud@practiceofthepractice.com

What's the refund policy?

We have to reserve the number of rooms ahead of time, so we are not offering a refund. You may transfer your ticket to someone else. If something really crazy happens like a death in the family, sickness, or something like that, we're reasonable people and we'll work with you the best we can.
