Session 1: Enabling personalization with Kiji and other Open Source tools
Members of the Macys.com engineering and analytics teams will present how they built a powerful personalization engine using the open source tools Apache Hadoop, Apache HBase and the Kiji Project. Specifically, this talk will highlight how Macy’s.com powers real-time recommendations at Macys.com. This session will feature a meetup style Q&A discussion after the presentation.
Session 2: Inside Opower’s Insights Platform: Operating at Scale with Kiji
Members of the Opower engineering team will host an interactive whiteboard session detailing how they built a next generation platform to power real-time energy insights. Topics include architecture, operations and lessons learned. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and partake in discussion.
