Youth Entrepreneurs! Do you have your own business? Would you like to showcase it? Share it with the community and get more business!

In partnership with the City of Henderson in Nevada, the Kidz 'N' Biz Expo is an event designed to Teach, Empower, Motivate, Provide, and Offer Youth Entrepreneurs, the resources and opportunities they need to start their own businesses. See additional information and FAQs below!

Kidz ‘n’ Biz EXPO is created to inspire Youth Entrepreneurship, Launch over 30+ Youth businesses, and Showcase existing Youth busineses into the community ang gain new customers.

Our goals for the Expo is to:

  • Gain local exposure for new and existing Youth Businesses

  • Provide a friendly learning environment for kids who are just like them

  • Learn to communicate and deliver their pitch to customers visiting their booth

  • Award Youth Entrepreneurs Kick start funds


WHAT TO DO NEXT:

1) Pay your $100 Booth Fee by January 11, 2017

  • Includes 10 x 10 area with 8 foot table and 2 chairs

  • Your Responsibilities:

1) Table cover and decorations
2) Brochures, flyers, and any information about your product or services
3) Be prepared with a 2 - 3 minute pitch about your product or service to share with potential customers

4) Be ready to demonstrate your product or service.

2) Submit the following BEFORE JANUARY 18, 2017 to Generation TEMPO (via email)

  • Prepare a single page Capability/Product Sheet highlighting the features and benefits of their products and/or services

  • Submit an Executive Summary of their Business for judge panel to review and consider for the Kick-Start Funding

FAQs

Am I restricted to the type of business I can have?

  • We encourage all types of businesses to participate in the event, however sales of weapons, drugs, anything deemed to be illegal are NOT permitted.

  • There will be no power source in your booth, therefore you will need to consider that as a factor.


What does my $100 booth fee include?

  • Your booth fee includes a 10 x 10 booth, 8 ft table and 2 chairs.

  • You will be responsible for all your decorations, product or service materials, and any power supply (with our approval) that you will need.


What are the booth guidelines?

  • Booths will generally be arranged in a straight line and have neighboring exhibitors on their immediate right and left, leaving only the front side exposed to the aisle.

  • All exhibit and display fixtures, products and signs must be arranged so that they do not obstruct sight lines of neighboring exhibits or hindering flow of traffic, or blocking the aisle.

  • Back Wall Maximum Height Restriction is 8’ and allowed only in the rear half of the booth space, with a 4’ height restriction imposed on all materials in the remaining space.


How many people can help me at my booth?

  • During the EXPO, ONLY 2 people are permitted to help you (1 must be a parent) with your booth. Any more than that will be too cluttered. You and your helpers will receive badges the night before for entry.

  • During the setup, you can have as many people help you set up. They will need to purchase a ticket (if they are 18 years or older) in order to attend the EXPO.


When can I set up my booth?

You will be able to set up your booth on:

  • Friday, February 10, 2017 between 5pm - 10pm

  • Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 6am - 9am.


Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

  • No.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

  • Open parking will be available, unless otherwise advised.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

  • Be prepared to attend the breakout sessions and wear comfortable clothing

  • Food and water are permitted in the Convention Center.

  • Pets are not permitted.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable or refundable?

  • No.

Can I update my registration information?

  • Yes, please send us an email.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

  • Yes. Your receipt will work, too!

What is the refund policy?

  • This event is non-refundable. We will apply your balance to a future event should we have to reschedule it due lack of enrollment.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

  • Yes, as long as we have the registrant's ID when he/she confirms his/her attendance in class.
