KidsEye™ is a fun, yet intensive, five-day filmmaking workshop for children ages 8-19 presented by Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival™.

The design of this workshop is to introduce students to the possibilities of filmmaking as a form of creative expression using the resources already available to them. There is no better time than now to spark a lifelong passion in filmmaking.

1. INTRODUCTORY - Geared for ages 8-12.

2. ADVANCED - Geared for ages 13-17.

3. COLLEGE - Geared for ages 18-21 (and beyond)

The Flickers' KidsEye Filmmaking Workshop for Summer 2022 will be a collaboration with Give Me 5, The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA), the Rhode Island Film and Television Office, and the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE), offers a unique opportunity for high school and middle school students to learn the ins and outs of film production.

The goal of this workshop is to introduce students to the possibilities of filmmaking as a form of creative expression using the resources already available to them. There is no better time than now to spark a lifelong passion in filmmaking.

Students will work with instructors to write, shoot and edit a short film that will then be showcased as part of the annual Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) in August.

At the conclusion of the 5-day program, students will have completed several short films that they will be able to use as a portfolio piece when looking to further their film education or search for roles within the creative industry.

THE FINE PRINT:

Tuition is $415 and must be paid in full with this application. Should you choose to withdraw your reservation, a deposit of $50 will be retained, and you will be refunded the balance up until two weeks prior to the camp after which there there will be no refunds. The deposit will not be refunded in any event including withdrawal, absence or dismissal. Our program is designed to give participants a sense of freedom, respect, creativity and personal responsibility. We reserve the right to dismiss a camper when his/her actions show disrespect for other people or the instructor.
