Event description

Description

Is your kid bursting with energy every time you try to take a picture or video? Or are they more interested in taking the video? If so, this is a great class for them! Kids will be organized into groups of Actors and Directors and will recreate scenes from classic movies. Your little Actors will learn how to enter a scene, deliver lines and act with the guidance of renowned actress, RACHEL WHITTLE, while your little Directors will learn how to frame a camera, press record and yell action with experienced filmmakers AHMED SIDDIQUI, ADAM HENSGENS and more!

What happens after we shoot? Well, then it's time for your little artists to get ready for the WORLD PREMIERE of their hard work! Join us the next day, Sunday, November 19 11:00AM-12:30PM for a screening of their work at The Hive Theater, 810 Jefferson St, Lafayette, LA 70501

BCKSTRY
bckstry (backstory) is a non-profit organization dedicated to mentoring the youth and providing opportunities to aspiring creatives and emerging filmmakers. SOUTHERN SCREEN
In November the festival will present four days of film screenings, live music, screenwriting, live podcast, workshops, parties, and more for every unique individual to enjoy. Southern Screen moves beyond traditional film and music festivals, and works to expose the community to the widespread possibilities of storytelling. The festival offers a hands-on experience, where the creativity mixes with a landscape of the local Louisiana culture to inspire and ignite the local community and visiting artist. We are invested in the process of educating our community on how to appreciate the art of storytelling as well as give them the tools to create their own. We believe there is no better place than Lafayette, Louisiana for Southern Screen to celebrate and share what local and visiting storytellers have accomplished.
