Join award-winning children's book illustrator Natelle Quek for a joyful and jam-packed interactive workshop full of creativity, laughter, and collaborative comic-making!
In this 45-minute interactive session, Natelle will lift the curtain on how picture books and comics are made – from early sketches to finished books. She'll bring along real-life materials from her studio, including storyboards, dummy books, and printed proofs, to show how your favourite characters come to life.
💥 Then it’s your turn to create!Together with Natelle (and your bookseller, Nicci!) you’ll invent a hilarious new story — one panel at a time — with surprise twists, speed drawing, and a fun comic-making game that will have everyone giggling as stories spin out of control in the best way.

〰 Ticket price is £5 per child - booking is essential
〰 Additional information: the bookshop is on the 1st floor up a flight of stairs; children will be stood around a crafting table, and will be provided with equipment including washable colouring pencils/crayons/pens depending on their age and ability. There are a couple of seats for adults who wish to attend with their children, otherwise adults will be expected to stand and watch (and join in if they like), or enjoy a lovely coffee and pastry downstairs in STAPLE.
