Kids Building Wisconsin is a free, fun and educational kids event centered around the construction industry on May 14, 2022

About this event

Kids Building Wisconsin is a fun, free event with a focus on getting kids interested in the numerous exciting careers available in the construction industry. Sprinkled across beautiful McKee Farms Park in Fitchburg, WI, we have be over 40 exhibits run by many construction industry professionals, organizations and local trades. All exhibits and fun, interactive and educational. As always Kids Building Wisconsin is a free event.

Kids Building Wisconsin 2022 will take place on May 14, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Some of the activities include boom lift rides, build a tool box, a giant sand pit, big equipment, virtual reality and so much more.

Why do I need to register for Kids Building Wisconsin if it is a free event?

Kids Building Wisconsin does involve big construction equipment and other activities that have a certain degree of risk. Is KBW dangerous? Not at all but the lawyers say we need this and also we like to have contact information in case an emergency would happen.

Anyway, please make sure when pre-registering the you get 1 ticket per person including each kids you plan on attending with you.

Why pre-register for Kids Building Wisconsin?

Simple answer, so you do not have to fill out this form the day of the event. Do you need to pre-register? Nope, we have registration through eventbright available at the event also but we encourage it!

How many tickets do I need to get?

When pre-registering the you get 1 ticket per person including each child you plan on attending with you. (Family of 4 needs to register for 4 tickets)

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking has always been an issue at Kids Building Wisconsin and we are working with the City of Fitchburg to make it easier.  WE WILL HAVE VERY LIMITED PARKING AT McKEE FARMS PARK!  We will have have extra parking at Tri-North Builders, CDW, Fitchburg City Hall, and Northstar Financial) and a shuttle will run every 10-15 minutes to the park.  The City of Fitchburg is not allowing street parking for the event for emergency vehicle access.  We will update new parking information on our Facebook page.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not have to but we highly suggest that you do to keep the line moving faster.  Either a printed ticket or the Evetbright app on your phone.

 

Are food and drinks free as well?

Food and drink at Kids Building Wisconsin are not free. The Roman Candle will be on site selling pizza, hot dogs and other items.

What is the best time of the day to attend?

Afternoon!   Kids Building Wisconsin is traditionally the busiest from 9:00 AM to about 1:00 PM. (We cannot guarantee exhibitor supplies last all day)

Kids Building Wisconsin is here to inspire and encourage kids’ interest in construction. Kids Building Wisconsin is a 100% free event (with the exception of food) and open to the public. At our event, we have big construction equipment, awesome hands-on exhibits highlighting the many exciting careers in the construction industry, food, fun visitors, and lots of chances to win prizes.

 

Kids Building Wisconsin is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to three main goals:

 

  1. Hosting a fun, educational community event free of charge to show kids and their families the exciting potential that a career in the construction industry offers.

  2. Laying the groundwork to combat the skilled worker shortage in our beautiful state.

  3. Elevating the image of the industry and celebrating those in it.
