Food For Life: Kickstart Your Health Nutrition and Cooking Classes
In a public health climate where two out of three adults in the United States are overweight or obese and 26 million have diabetes, the need for a lifestyle change is greater than it has ever been.
The Food For Life: Kickstart Your Health classes can help one lose weight, maintain a healthy weight, or simply embrace an overall healthful diet. For some class participants, it's the first time the idea of not restricting amounts of foods but rather choosing the right foods has been the guiding principle for losing weight and staying healthy. Low-fat plant-based diets are the easiest way to trim excess weight, prevent diabetes, cut cholesterol, lower blood pressure, prevent and reverse heart disease, and reduce cancer risk.

In the classes, attendees learn all of this while enjoying a cooking demonstration and tasting delicious, healthful dishes in a supportive group setting.
Learn how to make delicious dishes such as Portobello Fajitas and Mexican Kale and Blue Corn Salad. Your instructor will show you how easy it is to prepare these meals at home as well as share many money saving tips!

The Food for Life program is a community-based nutrition education program of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). PCRM is a nonprofit organization advancing preventive medicine, primarily good nutrition, and supports higher standards in research.
