Event description
Join garden expert Melinda Myers at historic Sanger House Gardens for a fun, inspirational spring container activity

About this Event

Garden guru Melinda Myers will present a seminar on creating your own garden container for spring/summer . Whether you want an accent for a city balcony or a suburban deck, bring your garden gloves and a 12-14" favorite container- we provide a selection of plants, potting soil and a box lunch/beverages. Is Mom a gardener? This would be a fun activity for the day before Mother's Day!

Melinda will share all you need to know to design and maintain spectacular containers. Whether ornamental or edible containers, for sun or shade- she'll provide tips on plant choice and proper care to keep them looking great throughout the season.

Work your container magic in the unique surroundings of Sanger House Gardens, a 2/3 acre garden located close to downtown Milwaukee in the charming Brewers Hill Historic District. The garden was the subject of a 14 page article in the April 2019 issue of Fine Gardening magazine Good Design Is Worth the Wait . Inspired by English and Mediterranean gardens, the beautiful grounds feature hundreds of trees, evergreens, shrubs, grasses and perennials as well as salvaged architectural artifacts and water features. The quaint carriage house will be open for bathroom and warm up (if needed).
